What is a Defibrillator?
We now have a defibrillator in school, which was only possible because of the amazing fund raising by the Friends and Family of Risley. But what is a defibrillator? and what does it do? See below for a brief description and click the link below for more information from The British Heart Foundation.
- A Defib is an automatic device that gives upto 200 joules of electric to the heart
- The electric shock, called defibrillation can save the life of someone in cardiac arrest
- They are easy to use and give verbal step-by-step instructions
- Our Defib is located in the Welfare Department. Look out for the green signs.
